Update from INZ - 14 January 2021

From April 2021, up to 1,000 priority returning degree and post-graduate international students and their families will be able to return to New Zealand to continue their studies.

Students can resume their studies at universities, institutes of technology and polytechnics, wānanga or private training establishments.

Eligibility criteria includes:

  • You will have already completed some of your studies in New Zealand, but you were unable to return due to border restrictions

  • You will have to apply for a new student visa in line with immigration requirements

  • Completion of standard managed isolation and quarantine + liability of charges '

  • Provide proof of at least $20 000 pa to cover living costs for the duration of the visa
