Ronelie + Eduard: Living the Peaceful Life in New Zealand
Ronelie and her husband Eduard are expat Filipinos who have made New Zealand their home away from home. We are proud to say that we were a part of Ronelie and Eduard's immigration journey for two years until they were granted their Residence Visas in 2015. We interviewed the couple to find out how they were settling into New Zealand as Kiwi-Filipinos.
Ronelie and Eduard, why did you choose to move in New Zealand?
New Zealand is a very safe country with a clean environment and a high quality of living. While Philippines will always be our Motherland, New Zealand truly feels like home for us now.
Ronelie, you were the primary applicant in your residence visa application under the Skilled Migrant Category, tell us a bit more about your occupation.
I was a Registered Nurse back in the Philippines. When I moved to New Zealand I decided to move in the direction of Clinical Support and now work as part of a Clinical Team in the private residential care sector.
What do you enjoy the most about your line of work?
I really enjoy my work in Clinical Support. A really important part of my job is ensuring that healthcare professionals in the organisation are able to deliver the care and support to residents at a high standard . Another significant part of my job is welcoming new staff and carrying out their induction and orientation, I also monitor staff performance to ensure residents get the high quality of care and treatment they require.
What do you love about New Zealand?
We think the people are very good. New Zealanders are relaxed, humble, hospitable and friendly people. Also, the natural beauty of New Zealand is breathtaking. We explored the North and South Island. Queenstown is one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever seen. What we enjoy and appreciate the most is the peaceful and simple life in New Zealand.
